Make a Claim

Our fast and timely claims services ensures that all settlements are processed in due time and are handled as diligently as possible.  Please review  the process to file motor claims and non-motor claims below.

To file a claim:

Non-Motor Claim Process

  1. Claim Notification – A claim may be notified by letter, telephone, e-mail, personal visit or via the company’s website and social media sites. Claims Notification should be done immediately the loss occurs and may be done by the insured or through their appointed intermediary.
  2. Claim Acknowledgement – Upon receipt of the loss notification, Intra Africa acknowledges the receipt in a reasonable time and requests for relevant documents.
  3. Claim Documentation – The insured shall provide the following documentation to facilitate processing of the claim: • Completed claim form (for specific class) • Police Abstract (for theft cases) • Replacement invoice/ purchase receipt/ proforma invoice • Statement on circumstances of loss
  4.  Claim Investigation /adjustment – Intra Africa shall within reasonable  time claims document appoint a Loss Adjuster or investigator to investigate and adjust the claim accordingly.
  5. Claim Negotiation and settlement – The claimant upon receipt of the adjustment/investigation report shall issue a discharge voucher indicating the amount offered for settlement for execution. Upon receipt of the duly executed discharge voucher and all claim documentation, Intra Africa will make the payment within reasonable time.
  6. Claims recoveries. – Intra Africa is entitled under subrogation rights after payment of a claim to recover all or part of the outlay from other sources e.g. negligent third parties, reinsurers etc.

Motor Claim Process

  1. Claim notification from the client or through his agent  broker.
  2. Assessment of Vehicle within 48 hours.
  3. Authorizing of repairs or settlement of claim in case it’s a write-off/total loss.
  4.  Claim Investigation /adjustment – Intra Africa shall within reasonable  time claims document appoint a Loss Adjuster or investigator to investigate and adjust the claim accordingly.
